It's Otago Anniversary Day here in Dunedin today. On March 23rd 1848 the 'John Wickliffe', the first of two sailing ships chartered by the Free Church of Scotland to bring settlers to Otago landed in Port Chalmers. The early settlers formed the beginning congregation or First Church of Otago with The Reverend Thomas Burns (nephew of poet Robbie Burns)as their Minister. This is the inside of First Church Of Otago which was designed by architect R A Lawson.
