What Is Not A Dream By Day (Matanaka) This is a wondeful piece of Otago history. The old Johnny Jones farm sheds at Matanaka in Waikouaiti. Jones was a ship-owner, whaler and trader. In 1838 purchased a whaling station and land in Waikouaiti becoming one of the first to attempt an organised settlement and agricultural industry in the South Island.
